Visit St. Michan's Church

Orignially founded in 1095, St. Michan's Church is the oldest church on the northside of the river Liffey. With lots of history and part of the parish, St. Michan's is a great place to go to mass. Its beautiful organ, decorated in 1723-1725, is played at every mass. The vaults under the chruch contain some of the most influential families of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and can be visited.

On Septembr 1st, 1831, the Dublin Zoo opened as a private society but in 1840 the doors opened to the public to how them 46 mammals and 72 birds for a penny on Sundays. Since then, the zoo has grown to cover 28 hectacres and has over a million visitors yearly.
